The Surrey County Men’s Past Presidents Bowling Association (SCMPPBA) is a separate entity to the Surrey County BA but is covered by the Constitution and General Byelaws of the Surrey County BA as, and where, applicable.
The SCMPPBA has two classes of Membership,
1). Full Membership (‘Members’) of the SCMPPBA is limited to those who have been Past Presidents of the Surrey County B.A.) The Past Presidents hold an AGM in November to discuss matters relevant to the Association and to elect ‘Associate Members’. There are, at present, 15 Members some of whom are not active bowlers.
2) ‘Associate Members’.
Associate Members are bowlers who have been invited to become such as a result of the outstanding and loyal service they have given their Club or the County and for the work they have done for the good of their fellow bowlers and the game in general. They are proposed by a Member and elected at the Past Presidents AGM to which only Past Presidents are entitled to attend. At present there are about 90 Associate Members.
During the course of the Season some 14 or so Matches are played against Past President Associations of other Counties, the Surrey County President’s team, and other Associations such the Banks BA, Sutton & District BA and West Surrey BA.
The SCMPPBA issues a Booklet each year detailing the Past Presidents, Members and Associate Members and the Matches for the next Season. This also serves as a receipt for membership subscriptions.
An Annual Dinner for all Members and Associate Members is held around March each year where the newly elected Associate Members are presented with their Tie and Lapel Badge and to which friends are also welcome. The occasion is Male only.
